While driving home from taking my daughter to college a couple of weeks ago, I discovered a new-to-me antique store in Dawsonville, Georgia. Located on Hwy 53 near the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall, Soul Sisters is a truly unique store with an impressive collection of vintage and antique treasures.
Soul Sisters owners, Sandy Alexander and Linda Dinsmore, first opened their store in downtown Dawsonville in 2015. They then relocated a short time later to a much larger space (9,000 square feet) close to Georgia Hwy 400. This store has a fun and unique design. Upon entering the store you feel almost as though you are walking through a maze of winding streets. As you wind your way through, you see walls that are decorated to look like old-timey store fronts.
This store is top notch. You can tell that they have high standards for their vendors, no yard sale junk here like you often see in antique malls. Each booth is well decorated and the majority of what I saw was vintage and antiques. Things that were new were primarily gifts such as soaps and artwork. Soul Sisters buys, sells, trades and also offers personal buying and home staging.
Here are some of the treasures that I saw that day.
China and glassware.
These corbels were made into bookends.
Lots of silver and ironstone.
A little bit of everything in this booth display.
Pretty and unique pieces.
Such an interesting rocking chair. I don’t know what you call this style.
Absolutely beautiful tole tray. I always find the tole trays.
This was one of my favorite pieces. It was originally the top half of a desk.
Soul Sisters is definitely a store that I could spend several hours in and one that I plan to visit again. It is located 1/2 mile from GA 400 on Highway 53 just past Lumpkin Campground Road at 40 Hightower Parkway in the State Farm Office Complex. For more information you can call them at (770) 871-1631.
