U.S. Highway 11 Antique Alley Yard Sale

I think I may have found a new favorite highway yard sale. It is the U.S. Highway 11 Antique Alley Yard Sale and it runs from Meridian, Mississippi to Bristol, Virginia. It takes place the weekend after Mother's Day and it is 502 miles of yard sale awesomeness. I went on Thursday, the first day of the sale and there were lots of vendors with great deals all along the highway. Since I was only … [Read more...]

The Hwy 31W Treasure Hunt – Shopping in Kentucky and Tennessee

Last weekend we decided to try a new highway yard sale, the Hwy 31W Treasure Hunt. This sale takes place every year during the second weekend of September. It is a 150 mile yard sale that goes from Nashville, Tennessee to Louisville, Kentucky. We started in Nashville and made it to Horse Cave, Kentucky. The best sales were definitely in Kentucky. We actually didn't find that many in Tennessee. … [Read more...]

China Finds in June

I shopped several yard sales close to home this past weekend and was happy to find several really nice sets of china. I have collected china for years and have gotten to the point where I am very selective about the china  I buy for myself (mainly because I don't have enough room to add much more LOL). Neighborhood Yard Sale Finds

Unfortunately, there weren't nearly as many homes participating this year but I was still able to find a few good deals. I found this pretty little pitcher. I also got these silk flowers. I got five sets of the flowers and used … [Read more...]

Church Rummage Sale

I always find so many  interesting things at the sale and this year was no different.  Another bonus is that they use the money they raise to help fund a variety of mission projects. I also visited a couple of other sales while I was out last Friday. I am so glad that itt is finally yard sale season … [Read more...]

2014 World’s Longest Yard Sale

Earlier this month we headed over to Alabama to check out the World's Longest Yard Sale. I had been wanting to go for the past few years but we always had something going on that weekend. This year it worked with our schedule so we loaded up the van with quilts, boxes, and packing material and started our adventure. I had done some research and knew that while the official sale started on … [Read more...]

Needlework Creations

Years ago many women filled their hours making embroidery and needlework creations for their homes. From samplers to pillowcases, napkins, and more, this art built wedding dowries and enhanced the beauty of homes. Some people are fortunate enough to have embroidered items that have been passed down through the years from previous generations. For others there are yard sales, estate sales, ebay, … [Read more...]
