So Many Flowers

Last week a friend of mine posted on Facebook that she was in the process of downsizing and needed to sell some furniture and miscellaneous items. While professionally she had worked for years as a nurse, she spent much of her free time making gorgeous flower arrangements, wreaths, and other decorative items. While this was a  hobby that she had been passionate about for years, she felt God was … [Read more...]

The Hwy 31W Treasure Hunt – Shopping in Kentucky and Tennessee

Last weekend we decided to try a new highway yard sale, the Hwy 31W Treasure Hunt. This sale takes place every year during the second weekend of September. It is a 150 mile yard sale that goes from Nashville, Tennessee to Louisville, Kentucky. We started in Nashville and made it to Horse Cave, Kentucky. The best sales were definitely in Kentucky. We actually didn't find that many in Tennessee. … [Read more...]

Church Rummage Sale

One of the many events I look forward to each year is our church's annual rummage sale. I always find so many  interesting things at the sale and this year was no different.  Another bonus is that they use the money they raise to help fund a variety of mission projects. I also visited a couple of other sales while I was out last Friday. I am so glad that itt is finally yard sale season … [Read more...]

A New Antique Booth and a Change of Direction

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since I have posted anything on my blog. A lot has happened in the past year and I have decided to change the focus of this blog. My original focus was on home decorating and DIY, and while I will still do some posts on those topics, I want to focus now on what has been occupying much of my time lately. About a year and a half ago, I opened an … [Read more...]

Bryant Antiques in Asheville

I recently posted an article about opening an antique booth in Douglasville. I have been busy this last month getting my booth painted, decorated, and stocked full of cool antique and vintage items. While my focus right now may be on my antique business, I still love visiting other antique stores to shop and get ideas for my booth. Last fall I visited Bryant Antiques. Who knew that I would be … [Read more...]

Fairburn Antique Mall

I enjoy shopping at antique stores and I try to visit antique shops in other cities when I am travelling. When I am home though, I like to visit the Fairburn Antique Mall in Fairburn, Georgia. I used to work in Peachtree City and would drive by this store on my way to work almost every day. I never shopped there though until my friend Anne opened a booth in the store. She took me there one day … [Read more...]

Junk Day at Woodstock Market

Yesterday when I wrote about visiting Woodstock Market I mentioned that I would be going to their Junk Day today. Well I did and it was a lot of fun. This is an event they hold every month or two. They rent spaces in their parking lot and dealers come and sell all kinds of stuff. They call it Junk Day but I saw lots of nice items. They had a huge variety, something for everyone. A lot of the … [Read more...]

Woodstock Market

Last weekend I attended an Atlanta blogger group meeting at the Woodstock Market in Acworth. The Atlanta Area Home/DIY Bloggers group was started by Erin Spain of DIY on the Cheap  and has regular meetings around Atlanta. This month we got to hear from Laura Whitlow with Rethunk Junk and Vickie Byrd with Bob's Upholstery. Vickie taught us how to do tufting. The class was a little advanced for … [Read more...]
