Church Rummage Sale

One of the many events I look forward to each year is our church’s annual rummage sale. I always find so many  interesting things at the sale and this year was no different.  Another bonus is that they use the money they raise to help fund a variety of mission projects.

I also visited a couple of other sales while I was out last Friday. I am so glad that itt is finally yard sale season again!

I found this cute little copper watering can at the church sale. I don’t think this one will make it into the booth. It will be perfect for watering house plants.

I really like the colors of these vintage napkins. Great for summer.

I think these were meant to be table legs. One is shorter than the other so they must have been for different tables.

I got this box full of Wedgwood cups and saucers. Wedgwood is always a popular pattern. I think I will put a few of these in my booth and sell the rest on ebay.

Now this next set of dishes is one I really got excited about. It is Friendly Village by Johnson Brothers. I have been wanting to purchase a set of this china for the longest time. I always thought it would look so pretty for Thanksgiving and throughout the Fall. Again, another purchase I may keep. This one came from a neighborhood yard sale.

And now, for my youngest daughter’s favorite: a set of handmade covered wagon string lights. These came from a yard sale held by a lady from our school. She said a friend of her mother’s had made them years ago. She said they used to camp a lot and would hang them up at their camp site. There are two strands of the lights. Aren’t they adorable? Imagine how long it must have taken to make these.

It was a great weekend for yard saling and I think this upcoming weekend will be even better. One of the huge subdivisions in our area is having their semi-annual neighborhood yard sale. The Highway 78 yard sale is this weekend too. I haven’t done this one before but it looks like a good one. It goes along Hwy 78 from Villa Rica to Tallapoosa. I will let you know what I find.
