China Finds in June

I shopped several yard sales close to home this past weekend and was happy to find several really nice sets of china. I have collected china for years and have gotten to the point where I am very selective about the china  I buy for myself (mainly because I don't have enough room to add much more LOL). I have been selling a good bit of china in my booth recently so most of my purchases will go … [Read more...]

Vintage Picnic Baskets and a Coffee Warmer

I only made it to one yard sale last weekend because my daughter was home sick for a couple of days (she's much better now.). The yard sale was hosted by a fellow antique dealer from my store along with another antique dealer friend of hers so they had lots of good things for sale. I got a couple of nice old picnic baskets. This one is definitely the oldest. I also got this pretty green … [Read more...]

Pyrex, China, and a Model Plane

I added quite a few new items to my booth in the past week. I am trying to get in the habit of taking things straight to the store rather than bringing them home.  My garage is so full right now. I went to an awesome neighborhood yard sale last week. One of my fellow booth owners is closing her booth this month and she was clearing out much of her stock that she had been keeping at home.  There … [Read more...]

Neighborhood Yard Sale Finds

Last week I mentioned that I was looking forward to a local, semi-annual neighborhood yard sale. Normally there are at least sixty or seventy homes participating. Unfortunately, there weren't nearly as many homes participating this year but I was still able to find a few good deals. I found this pretty little pitcher. I also got these silk flowers. I got five sets of the flowers and used … [Read more...]

Church Rummage Sale

One of the many events I look forward to each year is our church's annual rummage sale. I always find so many  interesting things at the sale and this year was no different.  Another bonus is that they use the money they raise to help fund a variety of mission projects. I also visited a couple of other sales while I was out last Friday. I am so glad that itt is finally yard sale season … [Read more...]

Antique Booth: January Sales

While January is typically a slow time of year for most antique booth dealers, this January was actually the best month I have had since opening my booth over a year-and-a-half ago. As I mentioned in my last post,  I opened a new booth at Ben's Furniture and Antiques in Douglasville, Georgia during the middle of January. It is more expensive than my other booth but it is in a great location in … [Read more...]

A New Antique Booth and a Change of Direction

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since I have posted anything on my blog. A lot has happened in the past year and I have decided to change the focus of this blog. My original focus was on home decorating and DIY, and while I will still do some posts on those topics, I want to focus now on what has been occupying much of my time lately. About a year and a half ago, I opened an … [Read more...]

A Baby Shower for My Niece

Earlier this month I hosted a baby shower for my sweet niece Hope. She is expecting her first baby, a little boy, and we are all so excited.   Her baby room theme is dinosaurs so I decided to incorporate a few of those into the decor. I ordered some dinosaur cookie cutters from Amazon and made cookies. I put out a few stuffed dinosaurs on the tables as decorations that she had … [Read more...]

Country Living Fair Ticket Giveaway

Last year I attended the Country Living Fair for the first time and had a great time.  There was just so much to see and do (and buy). Fall is the perfect time to visit a fair and this one takes place October 24-26. This year I am excited to be going again and to make it even better, I have two tickets to give away, courtesy of Explore Gwinnett. Some of the highlights from last … [Read more...]

Serenbe Designer Showhouse

Last week I had the opportunity to tour the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse. Listed at 1.2 million dollars, the home is located in the Chattahoochee Hills community called Serenbe. Steve and Marie Nygren founded Serenbe and in 2012 it was the location of the HGTV Green Home. The community has an organic farm, restaurants, Montessori school, and many cultural … [Read more...]
